A kitchen design reimagined not just for cooking, but for coming home, in Alta Vista (Ottawa) in 2014.
What was once tight and tired now breathes easy, with walnut wrapping the room like a well-cut jacket, light catching on glossy white doors, quartz counters and steel appliances. It’s a space that holds the quiet hum of morning rituals and the soft clink of evening wine.
With an expanded footprint, we carved out clear zones for cooking and gathering, and tucked smart storage into key areas.
To keep the budget in check, we recommended a walnut-look laminate for the cabinetry- delivering that rich MCM warmth without the premium price tag. The clients chose to invest in quartz at the cooking zone, and opted for laminate at the clean-up area with plans to upgrade later. They managed the project themselves, selecting their own backsplash tile and hardware, and coordinating trades along the way, working off our detailed layouts and cabinetry drawings.
