EMERALD GREEN
with ENVY

The bold and beautiful emerald green paint chip was brought by the client to our very first design meeting.

This '90s builder kitchen off Conroy Rd in Ottawa started with an awkwardly angled structural wall here, a floating half wall there...

So we cleared the obstacles and united the kitchen with the adjacent TV room to create one fluid, family-focused space.

Our Redesign

As Built

We made room for a full wall of cabinets by deleting a redundant window, added a ladder system and flip up doors on the top row for easy access.

A redundant window was deleted to make way for a full wall of ceiling-height cabinetry—accessible by a custom ladder system—and a spacious appliance garage now hides countertop chaos. It even includes a relay switch that cuts power when the doors are shut (thanks, Ontario Building Code).

“Heidi (Urbanomic Interiors) was the perfect choice for the redesign of our first floor; skilled designer, accomplice, teacher, mediator and task master all rolled into one. “

“Heidi listened to what I wanted ... and worked within those parameters to come up with beautiful decor ideas.
She understood what I was looking for, even when I wasn't articulate or clear!
I would highly recommend Heidi for big or small work! .... its clear that she really cares about how you feel in your space. “

We helped Lindsay land on the right furniture layout, with a curated shortlist of pieces she could buy on her own time—plus paint colours to make her new place feel unmistakably hers.
